WHY I LOVE BEACHBODY ON DEMAND

 

I knew the AMAZINGNESS of Beachbody On Demand from the moment it was released, but I didn’t truly grasp its greatness until I found out I was pregnant.  

 

You see, I’ve been a gym rat my ENTIRE ADULT LIFE. I started going to the gym at 16, I became a personal trainer at 18, and have taught Group Fitness Classes for almost 15 years!

 

 

So when someone would tell me, “You should workout at home.” - I thought they were absolutely CRAZY.

 

 

Why would I workout at home? The gym is so much more FUN!

 

And why would I workout alone? The gym is where all my friends are!     

 

I had every excuse in the book, from not having enough motivation to workout on my own, to believing that you can’t get a good workout at home. Shoot, I grew up with my mom doing Jane Fonda workouts on VHS… so to me, all home workouts involved leg warmers + spandex jumpsuits + step routines!  

 

But in 2009, I finally gave it a shot. And after just a little bit of time, I realized that home workouts were not only FUN, but also EFFECTIVE!

 

Now, although I finally learned that home workouts were actually LEGIT, the truth is that I was never really fully committed to the home fitness plans. I would still go to the gym 3-4 days a week. Then on the days I couldn’t fit in a gym sesh, I would workout at home.

 

I basically made the home workouts my back-up plan!

 

My first choice = gym time.

My second choice = home workouts.

 

But everything shifted August 2016 when that pregnancy test read POSITIVE…

 

 

As a fitness trainer, I see so many moms-to-be just STOP WORKING OUT.

 

The reasons are endless, and I’ve heard them all.Sometimes it’s pure exhaustion, or the difficulty of dealing with the changes the body is going through, and sometimes I hear of this absolute fear of working out because it may not be safe for the little one.

 

No matter what the reason is… it’s something I see and hear over and over again in my career. 

 

 

So the moment I found out I was now pregnant, I decided to fully commit myself to the home gym with a program called Beachbody On Demand (BOD).

 

 

Well… I guess it was like a day or two afterwards… the first couple of days were just filled with happy and excitement with my hubby, Brent, and my family and friends 🤗

 

I decided I was going to cut out EVERY excuse. No being too tired. No not having enough time. No not having enough motivation. I threw every excuse out the door and VOWED to have a Fit Pregnancy!

 

It was during those 40 weeks where I fell head-over-heels in LOVE with BOD.

 

And all my mamas and soon-to-be mamas out there know that during pregnancy, the gym is no longer even an option!

 

So, because of BOD, my home became my favorite gym. And now, in my weeks postpartum, BOD has been THE REASON I’ve seen such huge changes in my body in a short period of time. 

 

 

WHAT EXACTLY IS BOD?

 

BOD is basically the NETFLIX for workouts!

 

I am able to just STREAM my workouts from any device, just like I would Netflix.

 

No matter where I am or what device I have with me, whether it’s my phone, my iPad, my computer… I can access any workout I’m in the mood for. I can also stream these workouts use my Apple TV, a Roku box, or an Amazon Firestick, that way I can see it on the big screen.

 

Shoot, I can even use the BOD App and DOWNLOAD my workouts to an iOS or Android mobile device to workout even when I don’t have WiFi!   

 

So no… there are no VHSs or Jazzercise ladies bouncing around in spandex 😂 

 

BOD is MY FAVORITE ONLINE FITNESS PORTAL, full of 600+ workouts that I can watch and workout with any time I feel like!

4 REASONS WHY I LOVE BOD SO MUCH

 

There are so many reasons why I love Beachbody On Demand, but here are some of my favorites:

 

1) I CAN WORKOUT ANYWHERE.

 

As a new mama, working out at the gym is just NOT an option. We can talk about the time issue, but even if I had enough TIME I’m not taking Camden into a germ-infested facility!

 

I’ve watched what happens in those child-care rooms, and I’ve seen MRSA outbreaks start inside of the Kids Club… he’s DEFINITELY NOT going!

 

So, what do you do? Not workout at all!? NOPE! 

 

I used Beachbody On Demand so I can do my workouts here at the house.

 

But sometimes you just gotta leave the home… and I know so many of the girls in my Virtual Gym who take their BOD workouts OUTSIDE!

 

Some take their iPad to work with them and bust out their workout on their lunch break. Some of my my girls TRAVEL for work, so BOD is perfect to keep the fitness going STRONG! It’s also great for vacations, and any other situation that takes you out of your normal daily routine…

 

With BOD, the goes wherever you are! The beauty of BOD is that you can turn ANY PLACE into YOUR GYM.

 

 

2) I CAN WORKOUT ANYTIME.

 

I get asked often, “When’s the BEST TIME to workout?”

 

My answer is always the same… “Whenever you will actually do it!”

 

For me, that’s Camden’s NAP TIME! For other mamas, it may be right after dropping the kiddos off at school.

 

Some of my girls who are nurses start their 12 hour shift SUPER early in the morning, setting their alarms at 4am 😮

 

One of the most amazing things about Beachbody On Demand is that even if your day has gotten away from you, and it’s now 10 o’clock at night, your BOD GYM IS STILL OPEN!

 

You can literally workout WHENEVER your schedule allows 💪

 

 

 

3) I CAN WORKOUT REGARDLESS OF HOW CRAZY MY SCHEDULE IS.

 

Lets be honest… sometimes it just doesn’t matter that you can workout anywhere or even anytime. We all have those CRAZY FREAKIN’ DAYS where there just isn’t enough time in the day. 

 

I now know, as a new mom, it’s easy to say, “I just don’t have the time.”  But what I’ve learned is we have to have GRACE with ourselves, and realize that something is always better than nothing! 

 

The old Alli - the gym-rat Alli - believed that a GREAT workout was a 2-hour Sweat fest! One hour of strength training, and one hour of crazy cardio.

 

But now as a new mama, it’s just NOT realistic to think that I could find 2 hours in my day! And that’s why I had to remind myself that although I can’t spend 2 hours breakin’ a sweat that a little bit of time is still better than nothing.

 

With BOD, I’ve found my solution to get a workout in every day, no matter how crazy it is! (18, pink)

 

My goal everyday is just 30 minutes - 30 minutes in my day to #GetItDone 

 

Don’t think you even have 30 minutes? Well BOD can still take care of you!

 

Beachbody On Demand has workouts that are 15 minute HIIT workouts, and even 10 minute core training workouts.

 

So even on the days that I can’t even find that 30 minutes, I still make time for SOMETHING! Because something is always better than nothing, and with BOD, you’ve always got options do #GetItDone

 

 

4) I CAN WORKOUT REGARDLESS HOW IN- OR OUT-OF-SHAPE I’M IN.

 

My absolute favorite part of BOD has been its ability to adapt to what stage of the journey I am in!

 

Working out through a pregnancy presents so many challenges… but I always had workouts that I was able to do - all the way through my 40 weeks! 

 

And obviously when I was released at 6 weeks postpartum, I was starting from scratch. All my years of training went out the window bringing Camden into the world, so I had to start from basically ground level allover again.

 

With Beachbody On Deman, I was able to start slow to build up the foundation of my fitness. BOD has simple yet effective workouts that didn’t make me feel like a failure, but rather EMPOWERED me to be better!

I’m just head-over-heels in LOVE with Beachbody On Demand, and I want to share it with as many people as remotely possible!
