3 WAYS TO DEAL WITH CHANGE MORE POSITIVELY
THE TRUTH BEHIND… CHANGE & HOW TO DEAL WITH IT BETTER
I don’t know how else to say this, so I’m just going to say it… Change is HARD!
But change is also SO IMPORTANT. And my mission behind this blog is to help you RAISE THE BAR in your life, whether that be with your business, your fitness, or whatever… and if you’re going to do just that, you have to understand that you’ll only achieve your goals by learning how to deal with change.
Before I share with you my three BIG reasons, my three BIG truths about change, you first have to IDENTIFY why the heck you are so resistant to change in the first place. Because if you don’t have an understanding why you don’t like to experience change, nothing else I share with you will make any sense.
Remember that question I asked in my December 2010 video/blog post? Where I made you honestly ask yourself, “Am I truly HAPPY…or am I just comfortable?”
Well if you can relate to NOT being happy, yet being in that comfortable place - feeling stuck in a rut and not sure what direction to head in - than you are going to have to change… YOU HAVE TO!
And it’s our natural reaction to stray AWAY from change, to not take risks, and to resist trying something NEW! I’ve watched it happen time and time again, and I have been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why! And I truly believe that it comes down to FEAR…
FEAR HOLDS YOU BACK FROM CHANGING
Now let’s take a moment for some TRUTH TALK… fear comes in all shapes and sizes!
For some of you…it’s the fear of the unknown. Instead of just GOING FOR IT, you may be asking yourself:
What will happen to me if I make this decision? I’m afraid of how this will change my life? What if it DOESN’T work out? What happens on the other side of the LEAP?
My advice - TAKE THE FREAKIN’ LEAP!
You won’t know all the answers, it won’t be 100% safe, you will have to TAKE THE RISK, jump and then learn how to build your wings on thew ay down… but I hope that I’m living, breathing, walking, talking PROOF that leaping into the unknown can be one of the most REWARDING things you’ve ever done!
Others of you have the fear of not being in control, and that’s just as hard as the fear of the unknown. But changing into what you want to be means you have got to take yourself OUT of that comfy lil’ place you’ve created. They say, success lies just one to two steps OUTSIDE of your comfort zone. I know you aren’t HAPPY, but you are in control so in your mind you are saying… “everything is ok.” It’s NOT ok! Instead of moving towards your calling, your goals, your version of success, you’ve decided to stay in your comfy, cozy place because it’s too risky to change. YOU’VE GOTTA CHANGE! You’ve gotta get UNCOMFORTABLE. No if's, and's or but's!
I said fear comes in all shapes and sizes, and I wasn’t playing around because for some of you it has nothing to do with control or the unknown… but it’s the fear of being inadequate. You allow that brain of yours to tell yourself that because you don’t have the right education, background or experience - who are you to become something different?
Shoot, some of you are holding yourselves back because you actually have the fear of SUCCESS! I know that sounds ridic - how can anyone be afraid of success?! Well, I’ve worked with enough people to know that this fear definitely exists with some of you. You run away from CHANGE because your entire life you’ve labeled yourself as the unsuccessful and un-deserving person. You’ve tagged yourself as the “mess-up” and you just feel that EVERYONE AROUND YOU just assumes you are going to fail… so why even try to succeed? What’s the point?
I don’t know where you are in the Land of the Fears, but what I do know is that you first need to IDENTIFY where you fall, and then you’ve gotta go into CONQUERING mode… knowing that you can’t allow ANY FEAR get in the way of your goals and dreams!

1. ACCEPT THAT CHANGE IS INEVITABLE
Change is inevitable, but growth is optional! Your attitude decides your altitude this year, so embrace the idea of change being something that EVERYONE has to go through.
Rather than trying to push it away, or keeping things the same, ACCEPT the change and let it help you grow towards your goal!
2. STOP HAVIN’ STINKIN’ THINKIN’
Close to 10,000 people have joined our community, The #TogetherFit Family. Thousands of pounds have been lost and we are just getting started… and every person that joins our Fit Family is a part of our TEAM! And I always tell myself, “If your thinkin’ is stinkin’ your team is shrinkin'!”
And I say that because if I had stinkin’ thinkin’, there is NO WAY we would keep changing lives. There is no way we would keep evolving. There would be no way I could continue to live out my calling to help people… so regardless of who YOUR team is - or what your goals and focus are - you can’t, under any circumstance have stinkin’ thinkin’!
For me, I personally read a book or listen to a book on AUDIO for at least an hour a week… my team and I call it our Personal Development time. I personally do this, and I teach everyone I mentor to do this as well, because at the end of the day you need to pour positivity in - you can’t give of an empty cup. So whatever it is that you are looking to achieve, whether it’s to improve your fitness, find financial peace, have more mindful relationships… don’t have STINKIN’ THINKIN’ ya’ll!
3. SHARE YOUR JOURNEY OF CHANGE
I work with some AMAZING women. Women who are on their own fitness journey to lose 10, 20, 30, some even 50+ pounds, and continue the grind every single day. And every single one of them KNOWS that they are role models. People are following their journey, they are inspired by their story REGARDLESS if they’ve reach their goal weight yet or not. And do you wanna know why? Because people follow people who are changing. [read that again]
“People follow people who are changing.”
Your story matters. What you are going through matters, and although CHANGE IS HARD, it’s truly INSPIRING to watch someone overcome their fears and truly FIGHT for their HAPPINESS.
